First Aid Trainer

Part-time / Christchurch

The Role

Do you want to work where you have negotiable working hours and days, work with fantastic clients, and fun is encouraged? For the right candidate, we will work in. For this role teaching first aid to adults, we offer a competitive hourly rate, and all training will be provided if required.

In this education and administrative role, your duties will include:

  • Travelling to the training locations, mainly in Christchurch with the opportunity for other travel.

  • Setting up the classroom and welcoming the learners.

  • Providing custom training based on the client’s needs and the attendees interests.

  • Working with supplied training materials to assess key competencies.

  • Completing required paperwork.


Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be friendly and professional.

  • Be flexible, able to think on their feet and answer questions as they come up.

  • Be trustworthy & reliable.

  • Have excellent communication skills.

  • Have a solid understanding of business technology like Microsoft Word & Excel.

  • Have a reliable car and (at minimum) a restricted New Zealand driving license.

Additionally, to be a resuscitation council approved emergency care instructor, you need to meet one of the following criteria.

  • Possess a current (within the last four years) Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC) certificate (Unit Standard 29321); and

  • Unit Standard 29322: Demonstrate knowledge of Emergency Response Systems in New Zealand; and

  • Unit Standard 29324: Demonstrate understanding of the use of common medications relevant to the emergency care first response context.

OR

  • Possess the New Zealand Certificate in Emergency Care (First Responder). 

OR

  • Possess a health professional qualification deemed appropriate by the NZ Resuscitation Council
